I picked this bike up April 17th from Golden Gate Harley-Davidson/Buell in Corte Madera, CA for a sticker price of $8500 with 4822 miles.  This is my introduction to street bikes, I had only ever been on dirt bikes before.  I went to the dealership to look at a Buell Blast! for my wife (friends old bike), and walked out with this too.  I fell in love with it the first time I saw it and had to have it.  I am really enjoying this bike, she runs incredibly well (mind you, for a Buell), and is much more comfortable then I thought she would be.

So far, my troubles have been limited to only a backed off crankshaft nut.  It created quite a scare since it sounds extremely familiar to a rod knock (I am a professional mechanic).  It took me a while before I was able to crank the engine open, so it sat in the garage waiting for money (I didn't have the money for the registration and everything it
may
require to repair it.  After cranking the primary cover off, I found the crankshaft nut backed almost completely off.  I torqued it back down, and went for a ride.  A few miles later, the noise came back.  I eventually got back to it, torqued it down again (by the way, about 200 ft lbs) and used Loc-Tite in a liberal way.  Been okay for a few 100 miles now (since about 10/15/03).  It is my main transportation right now.

My current plans are to pay it off, and add a more touring type bike to my stable.  The VFR is looking better everyday.
